Detection Study: Prevalence of toxoplasmosis in aborted women infected with toxoplasma gondii in Baghdad province, with implications for oncology

Toxoplasmosis is a common parasitic disease caused byToxoplasma gondii, which can cause fetal abnormalities and spontaneous abortions. The prevalence of toxoplasmosis in aborted women in Iraq may vary depending on factors such as geographic location, sample size, and diagnostic methods used. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of toxoplasmosis in aborted women infected with T. gondii in Baghdad Province, and to provide insight into the impact of the disease on reproductive health. Blood samples were collected from 100 women who had experienced previous abortions in Baghdad province. The samples were tested for the presence of T. gondii using the Mini Vidas assay.
