Incidence of perioperative cardiac complications in patients with heart disease undergoing major oncosurgeries: A retrospective study

Background: Cardiac complications are the most important causes of morbidity and mortality in the first 30 days after non cardiac surgery which result in prolonged length of stay, increased health care costs and poorer prognosis. Patients with coronary artery disease undergoing non-cardiac surgery are at an increased risk for peri-operative complications such as Myocardial Infarction(MI), cardiac failure, arrhythmias, cardiac arrest and increased morbidity and mortality. Aim: To know the incidence of perioperative cardiac complications in patients with heart disease undergoing major oncosurgeries.
