  Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting the overall survival of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas

  Background: The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a nomogram to predict the Overall Survival (OS) of patients with Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma of the Head of the Pancreas (PDAC-HP). Methods: Using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, we collected patients with PDAC-HP in the United States between 2004 and 2015. Patients were randomly divided into training set and validating set at a ratio of 7:3. The training set is used to develop a nomogram for predicting OS. These indicators such as the C index, the area under curve of the receiver operating characteristic, and calibration plots were used to evaluate the prediction accuracy of the nomogram.
