Pain is a common and distressing symptom experienced by many cancer patients. The evaluation of pain in cancer patients is a crucial component of their care, as it allows healthcare professionals to understand the nature and severity of the pain, and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Pain assessment involves not only identifying the physical characteristics of the pain, but also the patient's psychological, social, and cultural factors that can impact their pain experience.
